The Free Little Birds, hailing from San Francisco, sing songs about birds, flowers, weather, and everything nice. With crisp two and three part harmonies in the style of the Carter Family, the members-with roots from California all the way to Ohio, and an age range of over 40 years-bring old time and bluegrass music to life. Bill Foss and Martha Hawthorne, veterans of the Bay Area music scene, are known for their groups the Knuckle Knockers, Duo Pizzicato, and the Bernal Hillbillies.
