NEW ADDITION:  Open jam session (free admission) from 1 to 2:30 led by Harry Liedstrand

11:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Old-time Fiddle with Joseph Decosimo

Old-time Banjo with Nancy Sluys ((Pilot Mountain Bobcats):  Nancy will be teaching clawhammer banjo tunes from Surry County, NC and Galax, VA areas including techniques learned from Kyle Creed.  LISTEN.

Primitive Baptist Singing with Ginny Hawker: Learn unaccompanied sacred songs in the powerful, archaic-sounding style of the Primitive Baptist Church; Ginny grew up singing these songs with her father in church.  This beautiful old-fashioned mountain style of singing is at the root of the style of great  mountain singers like Ginny, Ralph Stanley and Hazel Dickens.

Open Jam Session led by Jim Mueller & Amber Roullard Mueller  - free admission - all are welcome!!

1:00 PM to 2:30 PM

Old-time Fiddle with Mike Bryant: Mike will be teaching some tunes in standard and alternative tunings.   Tunes will be taught phrase by phrase with attention to bowing.  Teaching will be by ear so a recorder is recommended.

Old-time Banjo with Joseph Decosimo: Joseph will concentrate on old time up-picking styles - with a focus on Tennessee tunes.

Close Southern Harmony Singing with Ginny Hawker and Tracy Schwarz: This class is for singers who can hold a melody, but are unfamiliar with southern country harmony. Students will first learn to hear the melody and chord changes using examples ranging from the Carter Family to tent-meeting gospel songs. Then we will find and sing the basic harmony parts closest to that melody using good ear training.

Open Jam Session led by Harry Liedstrand - free admission - all are welcome!!
