The BOTMC Family Dance is a great way for the whole gang to have fun dancing together in a casual setting. No experience is necessary, and all ages are welcome. Caller Susan Michaels will teach the dances from scratch and prompt the moves all the way through, with some dances that even babes in arms can do! Foot-stomping fiddle-and-banjo music provided by the New Omatics.
Caller Susan Michaels,
who hails from southern California, has been calling dances since 1980,
at local evenings, weekend workshops, week-long elementary school
programs, week-long family camps and dance weekends throughout the U.S.
and Canada. She says: “I believe it is my mission to get people to
hold hands in a circle and move to music.” http://family-dance.com/
The New Omatics
took first place in the 2010 BOTMC String Band Contest with their
southern old-time music. The band members are Dane Miller (fiddle),
Rusty Holleman (banjo), Sarah Wilson (guitar), and Karen Sonnenblick
(bass.)
